Global Heart Alliance Print E-mail

Seeds of Light’s Global Heart Alliance is a worldwide network of caring, loving individuals and organizations who share a passion for giving and for helping to change the world for the better. We believe that humanity is facing a critical doorway at the moment. Are we willing and able to open our hearts, to raise our consciousness to a higher level, and live in love? How much do we care about people who are suffering and about animals and ecosystems which are endangered? Can we move beyond the old paradigm of victim-tyrant consciousness and into a new paradigm of heart-centered consciousness?

We believe what Mahatma Ghandi said: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” In other words if we wish to see a more loving world, it must begin inside each one of us, and we must develop the qualities of love and compassion in each one of us.

We believe that the power of the few can affect the many in profound and unseen ways. The scientific principle of the hundredth monkey says that if a critical mass of individuals develops a certain skill, then the rest of the population begins to behave in a similar way. As Margaret Mead said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” We believe that when enough people begin to live in a paradigm of loving, heart-centered consciousness, the rest of the world will follow.

Our network of affiliates around the world are dedicated to being of one mind and one heart. We share resources, collaborate, and together are committed to many forms of selfless service in our efforts to alleviate suffering and assist with the awakening of the global heart. We perceive the global heart to be the interconnectedness of all life through tolerance, love, forgiveness and compassion

Seeds of Light South Africa

Seeds of Light South Africa (SOLSA) is a Non Profit Organisation, comprised of a group of volunteers who receive no payment for the work done. Our aim is to support orphans and vulnerable children. Our main focus is education not only of children of all ages but also of the caregivers. It is our intention to build a trust that will facilitate giving the children a platform allowing them to successfully enter main stream employment. Currently we are one of several organisation supporting 70 children and a few caregivers at Amazing Grace Children's Home, as well as sponsoring several young adults through CIDA City Campus in Johannesburg.

The mission of SOLSA is to make the skills, experience and resources of our membership and network available to vulnerable children in an effort to source, develop and implement sustainable solutions to South Africa’s current socio-economic challenges.

It is the vision of SOLSA to facilitate and be part of the transformation of the current HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa and its socio-economic effects, in particular on children, into a society where the values of dignity, self-respect, of our rich heritage and the constitution of our country are promoted and entrenched.

The Global White Lion Protection Trust

The African people hold rare White Lions as sacred beings, humanity’s guardians during times of global transformation. Their natural and spiritual homeland is the Timbavati region of South Africa, neighboring the famous Kruger National Park, not far from Seeds of Light’s center.

In the 1970s several snow-white lion cubs were born into a wild, golden pride in Timbavati. Unfortunately the cubs were captured and bred for financial gain, for zoos, circuses, and as canned hunting trophies. Consequently, white lions have been extinct in the wild since 1993.

The Global White Lion Protection Trust is changing this. They are dedicated to protecting and preserving these sacred and beautiful animals through a scientifically proven re-introduction program designed to release white lions back into their natural habitat in the Timbavati area. White lions are not albinos, but exhibit a rare, recessive gene, which may date back to an earlier ice age.

Seeds of Light and the Global White Lion Protection Trust have collaborated on projects for many years. Seeds of Light supports the GWLPT’s mission: to protect white lions, which are at great risk from aggressive speed-breeding programs and trophy hunting, and to help preserve the indigenous knowledge that holds them sacred. Go to www.whitelions.org to learn more about their projects.

Seeds of Light and the Global White Lion Protection Trust have also collaborated on an inspiring project with the children of Acornhoek who participate in Seeds of Light’s music program. With our direction, the children have developed a musical theater piece about the white lions and recently had the extraordinary honor of performing their play for Nelson Mandela at a private audience in Johannesburg, a rare experience that has uplifted and changed their lives forever.

Unity of Tustin’s Seeds of Light Global Outreach Team

We are a group of committed individuals from the Unity Church of Tustin, California, who were originally inspired to assist Seeds of Light with fundraising when we learned from Leslie Temple-Thurston in 2001 about the plight of the children affected by HIV/AIDS in her native land, South Africa. We started by bringing our "pickle jar" money to each of our monthly meetings to send to the children. However, this did not satisfy our calling to help in more ways, and we made a commitment to expand our efforts.

Our fund raising has continued, and we have found many ways to support the children: selling Christmas cards, walking for Seeds of Light at the local Walk for Hope, having bake sales at our church and offering Mother's Day luncheons at our church. We even helped raise $13,000 for Seeds of Light with a jogathon through a local school in our area.We have felt incredibly blessed to be a part of Seeds of Light’s inspired dream. To know that children are being fed, clothed, educated, nurtured by loving hands and becoming self-sustaining citizens who can make a difference in the lives of their friends and neighbors is a gift to all of us. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of Seeds of Light.
